2024 Hobie Cat Phil Edwars No Serider 

The challenge was put forth by Tom Morey, USC engineering graduate and partner of More-Pope Surfboards. A contest that would test the limits of ability and design for one purpose; the noseride. In earlier years, the act of noseriding was reserved for the most adept of surfers. No manufacturer prior had dreamt of building a board for the sole ambition of riding the tip. In an effort to test the capabilities of his “Snub Nose,” Morey invited other surfboard giants to a July 4th contest placed at Ventura’s distinguished “C-Street.” The year was 1965. Immediately, Hobie Alter set to work.
